Commissioned by Dominante mixed choir and Seppo Murto.

It goes so still is a commission from choir director Seppo Murto and Dominante for Dominante´s 50's anniversary concert at Helsinki Music Center in November 2025.

-This 10-minute piece for mixed choir was composed to a text by Milka Luhtaniemi, which she wrote for this work. The music moves from a more static mood towards two climaxes, which for me symbolize the endless passion of human beings to create art. At times the wind blows, but new buds continue to sprout from the soil.

It goes so still is dedicated to Seppo Murto and Dominante.

The work was written with the help of Teosto Commission Fund and Finnish Cultural Foundation

[...inside there is only new space, like space for snow inside rain...]

Move from one

to another, to the next open

space

like a memory it comes back

to mind, it doesn't end

inside it there is only new

space like

inside the rain, space for snow like

inside the soil, space for a seed

and a person tall grass

[...inside it there is only new space, like space inside rain, like space inside snow, like space inside soil, inside it there is only...]

And love moves like

a trace, passing and free

to leave itself

behind

still, it goes so ahead

the wind blows

ahead of the the previous wind,

it goes so

still

and everything changing

just like now

moments thrown away,

leaves hidden

the wind blows

and what comes after

what is now

covers the traces of grass

leaves something to grow

and it's windy, ahead of the previous wind
