Joy, more Joy! (2026)
28/10/2026

Joy, more joy! will be first performed in the new music hall in Turku.
The work was commissioned by Turku Filharmonic Orchestra and hornist Tanja Nisonen for the opening concert of Fuuga.
The lyrics of the piece include some thoughts by Dalai Lama, and fragments from Friedrich Schiller's poem Ode to Joy (Ode an die Freude).
Oh friends, no more of these sounds! Let us sing more cheerful songs: Joy, more joy!
Joy, bright spark of joy.
Freude trinken alle Wesen, Alle Guten, Alle Bösen.
Alle Guten, alle Bösen folgen Ihrer Rosenspur.
Joy, more joy
Postnormal times, fasmoving and slowburning crises
The new world order´s taking shape, surprises, contradictions.
Joy, where do you stand today?
Is this a time of monsters or is this a time of joy?
How can we live joyfully in a world so full of suffering?
Where do we stand today?
The old world is dying, the new is not yet born
Social unrest grows and we are caught in a vicious cycle,
we are approaching a tipping point
with no turning back.
Yet we have the power to create and recreate.
Joy, oh joy.
where do we stand?
Every day and every moment we have the power of joy,
the magic power can reunite us.
All creatures drink of joy.
Oh friends, join us in this jubilee.
Diesen Kuss der ganzen Welt. Joy!
