Works in chronological order

The work reflects the relationship between human and nature. The idea was influenced by the paintings of Samuli Heimonen. The music moves in two layers, most of the time overlaping and joining together.

The idea for Grass is singing came from the most miraculous sound I have ever heard.

Based on the award-winning novel by Hanna Weselius Alma! is a kinetic opera about the difficulty of making art.

The impulse of this work came from a 9-year-old girl's wish for a Christmas present. She gave me a letter to send to Santa Claus. There was not a list of plastic toys but only one sentence: "What I hope for a Christmas present is that the world would be saved".

Rememoror (lat. "I remember") was composed during the time I was writing a memoir of my dear relative, who is suffering from dementia. The damage of memory hit me hard and I let a repeating, simple memory and its many runners, shatters and passes become a starting point of this work.

Kevätkesän avaruus started from poet Suvi Nuotio´s suggestion to collaborate. When winter´s long darkness was giving way to spring we wanted to try to catch a moment of glow into this lied. Kevätkesän avaruus won 1st prize in Majaoja Foundation´s lied competition in 2018.

According to some reports merisirri (The purple sandpiper) is assumed to be the first bird in Finland to die out of extinction because of the climate change. Merisirri nests only in shrubbery hilltops, habitats which are vanishing as forests cover the mountains.

Korentotanssi was composed for the Pirkanmaa music institute´s anniversary and was composed with the help of National Board of Education Finland.

Stoori was composed for the Pirkanmaa music institute´s anniversary and was composed with the help of National Board of Education Finland. Stoori was first perfomed in piano competition by talented student Sauli Aaltonen from Pirkanmaa music institute.
